Reference 16720 sits as a transitional GMT-Master in our catalog: the 40mm steel case profile carried over from the 16700 era (1988-1999), but updated with the modern Cerachrom bezel insert that didn't arrive on production GMTs until 2007. Collectors call this configuration a "frankenstein spec", vintage proportions, modern bezel tech.
Black sunburst dial with the original GMT layout: applied circular hour plots at 12, 6, and 9, rectangular batons elsewhere, all framed in white-gold-tone surrounds. Mercedes hour hand, red-tipped 24-hour arrow for the second timezone. The bidirectional 24-hour ceramic bezel reads matte black under flat light, gloss black under direct beam.
