The Yacht-Master launched in 1992 as Rolex's first nautical-luxury hybrid, and reference 16628 was the original full-gold variant, produced from 1992 through 2012. Where the Submariner was tool-watch utilitarian, the 16628 went the opposite direction: solid yellow gold throughout, raised polished numerals on the bezel, a thicker case profile that telegraphed wealth from across a marina.
40mm yellow-gold-plated case with the signature broad polished bezel, bidirectional rotation, sandblasted-look graduations on the bezel surface in our replica. Sunburst blue dial, applied gold hour markers with lume plots, mercedes hour hand. The blue dial reference is the harder-to-find configuration (white dial was the production volume seller).
