The Day-Date is the only Rolex line that spells out the day of the week in full, in any of 26 language variants from the factory. Launched in 1956 as the first wristwatch to do so, it became the President's watch by association with Eisenhower's Datejust. Reference 128238 in yellow gold is the modern 40mm iteration, replacing the 218238 in 2019 with a slimmer case profile and the calibre 3255 inside.
Our 128238 build runs ion-plated stainless steel finished to mimic the yellow-gold tone, 40mm with the smooth polished bezel that's been the Day-Date signature since the original 6511. Black lacquer dial, applied baton indices in gold tone, day window at 12 and date at 3 under the Cyclops.
